Cm rv – P1P4
Cm rv is an avid producer who focuses on more sombre pieces. Cm rv evolves previous ideas and presents them in an elegant and more nuanced matter. His rhythms, while repetitive, are hypnotic and calming.
P1P4 is a masterful composition. Piano 1, the half-improvised piano piece that opens the piece, is remarkably masked by the divine progression and incredibly opulent atmosphere. The luxurious keys work both as an immersive listen and celestial background muzak. P1P4, the closing ambience, is a marvellous companion piece, littered with elegant and graceful layers that enhance the overall listening experience. These two pieces as a whole are cm rv’s strongest work thus far and an excellent sign of what’s to come. Here’s hoping he can replicate these gorgeous soundscapes in a grander suite.
Note: I originally reviewed this EP as a song when I was doing song reviews. While I originally gave this song an “Awesome” rating, I have only changed the rating of this review as I have to review it as an EP. Sadly, it’s much too short to recommend it that strongly over other albums. Thus, the score has been dropped.
