Swin Deorin - [SDx43] Eigengrau

Swin Deorin is a retarded manlet from Scotland. He’s made a million albums no one his heard. [SDx43] Eigengrau is an engaging, yet inconsistent piece of work that is deters me from wanting to listen to the rest of the artist’s discography.

There are many quality tracks. Effervescent Feeling is as beautiful as it sounds. Under Rug utilises repetition to a delightful effect, as do many songs by Swin Deorin. The vibrant arp is matched charmingly by the twirling synths. Where Myias Lay Down infuses grittier elements, while featuring a stunning instrumental bridge halfway through. As usual in this god-forsaken scene, there are duller moments. Glistening Outside of Belief’s sound design is lacking until the tremendous breakcore section 6 and a half minutes in. Hard Times Ahead also utilises some neat breakcore, though its sound design is bleh. The Oddity of Sharing contains obnoxiously bland, boring synths that permeate a stagnate breakcore track. The final few tracks are all duds, ending with the belligerent and anti-climatic Eigengrau.

Yes, I do know what nepolism means you bald-headed fuck. I’ve read the bible 17 times over, I picked up some English on my way. Like my poor use of the English language, Swin Deorin wastes his impeccable music knowledge on making breakcore. More acoustic elements would have gone a long way. Make a compilation of your best tracks so I don’t have to review your entire discography.
