Notnotice - Tepahtiani
Tepahtiani, released June 6th, 2022, is another benign dark ambient album in the scene. As with most ambient, it does extremely little to stand out.
The opening track Atoyatl is light and engaging, thanks to its leading water ripples and subtle, yet stimulating synthetics. The memorability ends there. Tehtli is dull air. The following tracks, Tepahtiani and Ticochtica, are more of the same. There’s some light glitch on Atoyatl to differentiate it, though it’s meaningless dribble.
It’s difficult to put effort into a review for an artist that barely put any effort into their work. The production is solid; there’s clearly work on that forefront. If only more time was spent creating something new.
