Selfish Dream - Every Word Unspoken

Following Selfish Dream’s previous reviews on Deko.fm, the artist stopped submitting their work. Reasonably so, though that didn’t stop me from listening to him, as I was always intrigued by the sense of movement within his works.

Every Word Unspoken, released April 15, 2022, was Selfish Dream’s most notable release, though it’s not without its flaws. On the positive side, the atmosphere is stunning; consistently dark and alluring. The instrumentation is so elegant and fulfilling, nothing could be added to the mix. An Appropriate God builds into something special. The track-listing is enriched by a competent mixer and a solid choice of pads. On the flip side, it tends to fluff, which is natural for this type of genre. It’s not that the album isn’t done well, it’s that it gets old, fast. Additionally, Nobody, Everywhere and Culmination of Our Mistakes are lower points in the album. Both tracks are uneventful

Selfish Dream is a fine producer and a fine composer, he just lacks flavour. Perhaps the artist should collab with another to make something more original. That, or something more memorable.
